She has such debilitating arthritis that it has become increasingly painful for her to hold a traditional book for very long -- even a paperback. And now that she's in the early stages of macular degeneration, traditional books don't work for her at all -- yet she's able to increase the font size on the Kindle to a comfortable level so she can keep reading.
